The portraits of adolescents have been expressed differently since the times of some great philosophers. The journey through adolescence has been long and complex. Therefore, growing up has never been easy because as an adolescent his time is viewed as time of rebellion, crisis, pathology and deviance. Several factors affect them differently and either they take to drugs, drop out of school, get pregnant at tender age, involve in adolescents sexual problems, etc. This paper attempted to describe some of these challenges adolescents face today. Some influencing factors such as media and music, computer and internet were discussed. Modern life today is stressful and leaves its psychological scars on too many adolescents who are unable to cope effectively, never reach their human potentials. The paper concluded prescribing some preventive measures on how to reduce adolescents’ pregnancy, drug abuse, and dropout at schools
