Abstract

 

This paper focused on vital issues which should be considered for successful implementation of Universal Basic Education in Nigeria. Programmes of similar nature that were initiated and implemented in the past were identified with certain shortcomings which constituted obstacles to successful execution. Finding solutions to the implementation problems should not be delayed. Therefore, the regular increase in the supply of facilities to schools, training of personnel and employing them with adequate remuneration, adequate funding, prudent financial management, and improvement in data collection method was recommended.
