Abstract

No country has succeeded without educating its people, because education is the key to sustaining growth and reducing poverty. Adult education is associated with a wide range of indicators of development and wellbeing of adults including a nation's increased productivity and competitiveness as well as social and political progress. It is against the background that this paper sought to examine the relevance of adult education to the development and wellbeing of adults in Nigeria. The paper thus looked at the concept of adult education, adult education in Nigeria the relevance of adult education to the development and wellbeing of adults in Nigeria, and finally conclusion and recommendation.
